Death | Paralysis|| Note added by Kirk A. Moloney, 20 January 2019: A google search leads to a web page of the Home for Disabled Veterans which was begun after World War I as the National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers. The Pacific Branch was in Sawtelle, Los Angeles. There is now a Sawtelle Veterans home in Los Angeles, which may be the current facility. |

Shared note | Letters - Dr. S.C. O'Mahony/LeRoy D. Moloney, 3 October 1990, Limerick Regional Archives, The Granary, Michael Street, Limerick, Michael Street, Limerick, Telephone: 061-40777 FAX: 061-315634: Dear Mr. Moloney, Good news! We have found your Timothy, and thanks to his using his mother's name as a middle name, we have no doubt that we have found the correct Timothy. His parents were Timothy Moloney and Deborah Fleming. Timothy and Deborah married in Kilfinane parish on 1 May 1839, in the presence of David Fleming and Patrick Fleming. They had no children in that parish, but had two in neighbouring Kilmallock: Timothy on 12 April 1840; Anastasia on 8 July 1841. I don't know what happened after that. The family would appear to have left the area, but I don't know whether or not it is worth searching for more children by them elsewhere, especially as we don't know whether there were any children to search for! It is not possible to go back a further generation in either Kilmallock (which starts in 1837) or in Kilfinane (which starts in 1832). There were no Moloneys among the sponsors to the two children either; so we have no lead on which to base further work. With best wishes, I remain Yours sincerely, /s/ Chris O'Mahony |
